Minecraft NFTs Not Allowed, Developer Says

Minecraft is one of the most popular games across multiple platforms, but it doesn't have any non-fungible tokens, or NFTs. Mojang, the game's developer announced on Wednesday on its blog that it would not allow Minecraft NFTs.

"To ensure that Minecraft players enjoy a safe and inclusive experience, blockchain technology is not allowed to be used into our Minecraft client and server apps as well as used to create NFTs that are associated with any game content, including worlds skins, personal items , or other mods," Mojang said.

According to Mojang, there have been NFTs made by companies connected to Minecraft. However Mojang has declared that these tokens aren't inclusive and create a "scenario of the wealthy versus the poor."  Minecraft servers Mojang has also raised concerns about instances of fraud and artificially high prices for NFTs.

The video game industry is yet to fully embrace NFTs, though there have been a few successes which didn't last because of the current crypto winter. Experts predict that NFTs will become the norm in gaming once someone can figure out the best method to implement them.
